E=mc2, The energy in any mass is equal to the mass, (in kilograms), times the speed of light, squared, (i.e. times itself).

The significance of this, is that it led to our finding out that we could create atom bombs. Also, it established the fact that all matter, (i.e. "mass"), is composed of energy, and the sum-total of all mass and energy in our universe never changes.
