From Indus civilization Cow was the main cattle. And as all knows from Indus only Hindus came from and more important thing is cow's milk is equal to mother's milk before all the powder stuff came in.

So, Hindus gives importance to cow than any other animals

A Cow has served humans since ancient civilizations as a source of milk,hide,horns, and meat for economic use.

Before modernization, and even these days a cow is used in the farm for work (ploughing,transport etc).

Milk & milk products supplement a farmer's income.

Among Hindus & other cultures it is worshipped as a holy animal of the gods.
