Nigeria contains many groups of people with different tribes,beliefs and culture.As such a country,a way of communication must be in essence to achieve one goal of building the nation as mother of it's citizens,and this way is one LANGUAGE as official.Becouse without language one can never understand what the other means nomatter how friendly they are.For instance,English language now is the common within nigerians even in govenment house.The Constitution itself is written in English.For that and several more reasons,language plays an important role in building and development of nigeria that in can not do without it!!!.

Since the British Empire imposed its language on many countries by force, it would be a symbolic rejection of colonialism to reject the English language and instead adopt a more indigenous language.

Of course, it is also true that if you did not speak English, you would not have been able to ask me this question. English has its uses. But perhaps you will know more than one language.
