The skin is the largest organ of the body, with a surface area of 18 square feet. Its two main layers are the epidermis (outer layer) and dermis (inner layer). And what you ask is DERMIS (thicker inner layer) .
The dermis varies in thickness depending on the location of the skin. It is .3 mm on the eyelid and 3.0 mm on the back. The dermis is composed of three types of tissue that are present throughout - not in layers. The types of tissue are:
Layers of the Dermis
The two layers of the dermis are the papillary and reticular layers.
The dermis is the inner layer of the skin. The epidermis is the outer layer of your skin. The dermis is the inner layer of skin underneath the epidermis
The inner layer of skin is called the Dermis
The name of the layer of skin is the dermis.

Both the blood vessels and the sweat glands of the skin work to decrease body temperature when it is too high. The superficial blood vessels dilate to release more heat through the skin, and the sweat glands produce perspiration, which evaporates to reduce body temperature.
The dermis contains fat cell, blood supply, and nerves. It also contains hair follicles, oild glands, and sweat glands. Fibroblasts in the dermis make collagen. The dermis is composed of connective tissue and contains blood vessels, nerve endings, hair follicles, lymph vessels sebaceous glands(oil glands), and sudoriferous glands(sweat glands).collagen fibers, arector pili, sebaceous glands, sudoriferous glands, sensory receptors pacinian corpuscle, meissener's corpuscle, hair root, stratified epithelium The dermis contains, among other things, hair follicles, sebaceous glands (oil), sweat glands, free nerve endings (pain), pressure/touch receptors and a microvascular supply.
The dermis contains nerves, blood vessels, sweat glands, hairs, and oil glands.
The matrix which produces it and the hair papilla contains blood vessels that nourish the hair follicles.
Your hair follicles are located in your Dermis. The innermost section of the skin, made up the papillary layer and the reticular layer. The dermis contains blood and lymph vessels, nerves, sweat and oil glands, hair follicles, and arrector pili muscles. The dermis nourishes and supplies blood to the epidermis.
Around the sweat glands, there are multiple blood vessels in a net-like form." Under the pressure of great stress the vessels constrict. Then as the anxiety passes "the blood vessels dilate to the point of rupture. The blood goes into the sweat glands." As the sweat glands are producing a lot of sweat, it pushes the blood to the surface - coming out as droplets of blood mixed with sweat. Structural components of the dermis are collagen, elastic fibers, and extrafibrillar matrix. It also contains Mechanoreceptors that provide the sense of touch and heat, hair follicles, sweat glands, sebaceous glands, apocrine glands, lymphatic vessels and blood vessels.
The epidermis is the part of the skin that faces the outside or enviroment. The dermis is the layer just under the epidermis that contains hair follicles, nerves, blood and lymph vessels - the layer you get the sense of touch from. It is made of connective tissue. The function of the dermis is to be the major support structure for the epidermis. It contains the strength in its fibers and is considered to be the true skin. It also supplies the epidermis with blood and nutrients.
The epidermis, or the outermost layer, contains no blood vessels.
The dermal reticular layer; this layer is the location of a lot of structures such as the hair follicles and the blood vessels.
Oil glands ,also known as Sebaceous Glands ,blood vessels, sweat glands along with nerve endings are found in 2nd layer of skin ,which is called as Dermis.u can not see it because DERMIS as it is under the OUTERMOST layer of skin called as EPIDERMIS
