Kinetic Energy = 1/2 * mass * velocity squared

KE = 1/2mV2

KE = 1/2(35 kg)(1 m/s)2

= 18 Joules

You watch your friend take off in a jet plane and you comment on the kinetic energy she has acquired But she says she has no such increaze in kinetic energy Who is correct?

You are correct. When the jet moved, she moved with it. If she was moving faster than she was before, then she gained kinetic energy. She lost that kinetic energy when the plane touched down and came to a stop.

A friend says that in a mixture of gas in thermal equilibrium that the molecules have the same average kinetic energy Do you agree or disagree?

agree.

Eddie tosses his phone up to his friend's window which is 4 m above the ground. What energy conversion takes place with respect to the phone?

Kinetic energy to gravitational potential energy

Imagine that you drop a ball it bounces a few times and then it stops your friend says that the energy that the ball had is gone where did the energy go?

Some of the energy has converted into heat energy because of the friction, the kinetic energy is gone, but there is potential energy. Also, some of the energy has converted into sound energy from the basketball bouncing. Your friend is wrong because there is still energy like kinetic energy, energy cannot disappear it gets converted.

How do you use the across in a sentence?

My friend lives across the street from me, so we usually hang out.

What if your friend says that the law of conservation of momentum violated when a ball rolls down a hill and gain momentum what do you say?

it could be said that since potential energy (mgh) is lost at the exact rate kinetic energy (ke) is gained, that energy is translated into another form since force applied (gravity) over time then impulse applied and increase of momentum

My best guy friend has a gf but the other night we were watching a movie together and he was lightly running his hands across my lower back we had a fight the day before what was he doing?

How is kinectic and ppotential energy different?

In the world of science we do not understand many ungodly things you my friend need to listen... Kinetic energy is a source of a moving energy; like a ball rolling or you throwing a pen using force (also known as work) Potential energy as we call it is stored energy like a ball NOT rolling just sitting there. so kinetic is moving energy and potential is non moving or stored energy! Wow!! HEY THAT IS COOL!!! SAY THAT RIGHT NOW! made by a genius in her fifth grade lab! if you are an older person (passed collage) then you would lose "Are you smarter than a fifth grader" because I am!!! you bonk, you snarky gadzook, you homosapien... ha ha those words all mean human!!!!
