Australia lies in the southern hemisphere (as opposed to the northern hemisphere) and is considered to lie in the eastern hemisphere (as opposed to western).
Most of them are at least in part in the Southern Hemisphere. Australia and Antarctica are wholly in the Southern Hemisphere, and Africa and S America are mostly in it.
