The Great Dividing Range is a mountain range consisting of hundreds of smaller ranges, extending from Cape York in far North Queensland, right down the eastern coast and around to western Victoria, ending at the Grampians. The highest point of the Great Dividing Range is found in the Australian Alps, where Mt Kosciuszko is 2228 m high.
