male lions r the leaders and r typicaly very lazy. they do not do the hunting and just take the most reward in the kill of the lionesess. the lionesses r the hunting and babymaking role players and when a kill is made they eat second (after the male). only one full grown male is alowed in a pride (unless there are ruling brothers.. ..... rare tho). a alpha male will kill the cubs of another male and kill that male also in an attempt to only allow his lineage to live on. cubs eat last and for this reason many die at a young age. most of the food is already gone at the time the cubs eat and if they are males (that have the alpha male as their father) they will be driven from the pride as the reach maturity and forced to start their own pride.
