Bells Palsy is a weakness or paralysisBells Palsy is a weakness or paralysis affecting the muscles on one side of the face due to inflammation or trauma of the facial nerve. It displays a number of symptoms such as an inability to blink or close the eye and total paralysis on the side affected.

Recovery is based on the individual. Mine started to come back within a month but still hasn't 100 percent come back yet. It has been 5 months now.

I wrote an article that discusses my symptoms and treatments used etc.

Bell's palsy is when the 7th cranial nerve behind the ear on either side or both becomes swollen. mine began with twitching and slight pain to full blown palsy. right side droopy but not numb. I use chiropractic technique, B-complex vitamins that help the nerve heal faster, an old folklore herbal cream topically to relax the nerve, which is the same I used for my sciatica pain and it helps. anti viral drugs just make you sicker and it doesn't speed the process because it's the nerve. As with any nerve (i.e. root canal) if you ever had this issue, you know nothing helps the pain. It's been two weeks and my face is showing small signs of movement and my speech is improving day by day. My right side hemisphere hurts like bruising as it is healing itself and repairing the nerve. stinging, twitches are all part of healing process, be patient, relax and reduce stress. Stress is what brought mine on. Have an MRI to rule out stroke if you have any history of heart condition, but the b-complex will help. Make sure you check with your doctor before trying anything new on your body and to rule out drug interactions with any prescriptions you might be taking, be cautious its your body. Eat right and remember everyone's body reacts and recovers differently. don't stress on it, you will recover.

it s like forth month and still im recovering, sometimes when i close my eye which was affected that time,it also applies some pressure on lips muscles ,for few days after 4 months, this pressure pulled my lip(left area/affected) down, after 3-4 days it went away, now when i close my eye a muscle in my neck and one in forehead will be under vibration and pressure, its all signs of recovery.my doctor said it will be recoverying near 11 months or a year at LEAST,but the thing is that some case recover 80% in the first month, and some case recover that amount in 2-3 months.but if its more than that for you and you havent had recovery at all you better see doctors or neurologist to figure out whats the problem, some times there is a need to do a small surgery to activate the nerve again.
