There are quite a few very long songs in Rock. The longest that I have found is "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" by Pink Floyd on their 1975 album Wish You Were Here?at 26:05. However, this song is cut up into 2 parts so it really should be considered two songs at 13:38 and 12:29. The second longest song I found is "2112" by Rush on the 1976 album 2112?at?20:33
"Thick As A Brick" by progressive rock band Jethro Tull. The song is almost 45 minutes long and was released on the album Thick As A Brick in 1972.

The longest song I have ever heard of is a song that is supposed to last for 1000 years. But that is just a machine making the song. The longest song is recorded by Bull of Heaven and it lasted 6 years. I'm not sure what it is called though. Another very long song is Metropolis by Dream Theater. It is divided into two parts. Part one is a 9 minute and 32 second song. Part two is 77 minutes and 6 seconds long. This is the longest song that I know of, but part one is on a different album.
