You're on the right track, but don't get hung up on 'lines'. Longitude is the angle from the Prime Meridian east or west to the place of interest.
It is latitude lines. this is all from my geography class. hehehe
The Prime Meridian is not like the others. It's a meridian of longitude, whereas the other two are both parallels of latitude.
Latitude is the measurement of distance north or south of the Equator. Longitude is the measurement of distance east or west of the prime meridian.
