Al Simpson from the NEW YORK TIMES took more than 18 pictures of this large six-engined Recon bomber. This JU-390 Recon Aircraft was custom built for this mission in February 1943, it had eight huge fuel cells in the fuselage and only a four man crew. It carried no bombs or guns and it could fly 18,000 miles without refueling.
