Material that isn't strong has a higher chance of being destroyed, and a higher chance of death if the house caves in during the quake.
The collision of tectonic plates are usually the main reason for earthquakes.
As we build rest houses for the tourists [most of which is situate near the forest areas], the people who wanted tobuildrest houses would require to fell a large number of trees, leading to deforestation. also, when a forest fire or any other disaster takes place the investments are totally a mere waste which leads to a wastage a large sums of money. also, the noise from the rest houses that is built near or in an national park can cause a lot of noise, which the tourists create, also a reason for disturbing the wildlife present in that area [ particular national parks].
Broken water pipes would be the main reason. In some cases tsunamis follow earthquakes in costal regions as we have seen in Japan.
The plates that construct the Earth either slip past each other, or two move towards each other whilst creating a gap between others, this movement causes a vibration in which is the Earthquake. Depending on which plates move, depends on the type of Earthquake and thus, how much damage is caused. Hope it helps :)
The normal reason is to be sold as scrap. The increase in raw material prices has fuelled an increase in this sort of crime.
One reason would be the amount of people where the earthquake has hit.
they can hide in their houses or on top of their houses the reason why is because the magma will flow all on the ground and it might hit you
Houses got bombed, and millions of people had to travel miles for work.
because people want to have houses there and they want paper

The reason for the earthquake in Japan is two plates of the earth's crust are shifting. After the earthquake, there was a tsunami, or a tidal wave, and also many aftershocks.
The reason that so many people died in the Kobe earthquake, rather than in the other major earthquakes in the world, is because Kobe is one of the most popular cities to be hit by a major earthquake. The fact that it hit in 5 in the morning, meant that everybody was in there poorly structured houses that were not made to resist the force of a 7.2 scaled earthquakes. The older, more traditional houses were the ones that killed most. With heavy rooves and only four wooden posts to hold them up, they were not built for earthquakes at all: Infact, their purpose was to shield against typhoons. They fell down in the pankcake effect (see seconds until disaster:Kobe Earthquake). Many people were crushed under the weight of their rooves, whilst their wooden houses burned. Also the Japanese government was shocked by what had happened, for some strange reason, and it took a while for the emergency services to get up and in action. Kobe is just 20km from the epicentre of the earthquake so that had devastation effects too.A large amount of people died from a wall of fire, approx 5m high and because is was so heavily populated. People had no where to run, as it only lasted 28.557 seconds.Japan is placed on 3 plate boundaries Eurasian, pacific, and Philippines.
No because UK is no where located to a plate boundary so that is the reason why people in UK don't have Earthquake or Volcanoes.
You f'ing helmet wearer! They are called medival houses for a reason.
Someone shouted and it was so loud that the earthquake happend in one second!
As a rule, cities are more densely populated (more people per square kilometer) than the countryside. So if a square kilometer gets destroyed by an earthquake in a city, more people are there, so more people die than if it were to happen in the countryside, where there might be only one or two houses on that square kilometer. Another reason that more people die in city earthquakes is that the buildings are often very tall, and they can crush people when they collapse. Buildings in the countryside usually aren't as tall, and can be more easily evacuated. I hope that answered your question.
This was a previous incorrect answer*DIVIDE BY 2! everything is in half. half the people half the houses then it stands to reason HALF THE DAYS!!!!! the answer is 60*.....Actually the correct answer is 120 days. You must analyze the relationship of people per house (10 people build 60 houses=6 houses per person over time span). To prove this just imagine if the question asked how long 1 person would take to build 6 houses. You would not simply divide by 10 to get 12 days.
