The earth's mantle is not made of metal but is a mixture of many somewhat molten rocks, most as oxides, meaning the mantle may be more oxygen than metal. The metals it has the most of are magnesium, iron, and aluminum. There's also lots of silicon, which is not really a metal.

What layer is made of rocky material and some liquid rock?

The Earth is made up of several layers, divided by sub-layers, divided by even more sub-layers. There is the core, which is mostly made up of solid iron; the outer core which is up to 10% liquid; the lower mantle which is ductile, the upper mantle and then the crust which on average is about 40 km thick. The outer core is called the 'liquid outer core' but is still made up of mostly solid rock.
