Browning.com has a sn function under customer service.
Go to "Dating your firearm" on their site.
Your Browning Challenger was made in 1966. You can go to Browning as suggested above to look all this up, but SN's were followed by a U denoting Challenger Pistol and a single digit from '62 to '68, then a two digit year was listed from 69 to 75, when they then started the Challenger II and III series. Those were denoted by the prefix 655 and a two letter code denoting the year. You have to go to the Browning site to look those up.
Browning Challenger made in 1974. $300-$400.
Your serial number isn't quite right, please check it again, but it appears you have a Browning Challenger.
That depends... Colt or Browning? Colt Challenger run $350 to $500, depending on model. Browning Challenger runs $250 to $700, depending on model. You've got to be more specific....
"The Challenger II series .22 Caliber Pistol was introduced in 1976 and ceased production in 1982. The Challenger II evolved into the Challenger III in 1983." from: http://www.browning.com/customerservice/dategun/detail.asp?id=31
