Depending on its value, the coin has the potential of being composed of two main materials.
1. Bronze: In 1965, the 1, 5, and 10 fil coins were minted from this material; with diameters of 18mm, 18mm, and 24mm respectively.
2. Cupro-nickle: Also first minted in 1965, the 25, 50, and 100 fil coins were minted from this material; measuring (in diameter) 20mm, 20mm, and 25 mm respectively.
In recent years (from 1992 onward), the composition of the 5 and 10 fils has been changed to brass, and became 19mm and 21mm in diameter, respectively; while the 25 and 50 fils remained made of cupro-nickle, but also changed in diameter, to 20mm and 22 mm respectively.
The 100 fils coin made a dramatic change to being composed of a brass ring, with a cupro-nickle center.
It would depend on the denomination of the coin and the condition it was in.
It would depend on the denomination of the coin and the condition it was in.
It depends on how good the coin looks... if its all old looking and gross, its not worth as much as it would be if it was cleaner. Also it depends on the date of the coin... older - more $ its worth. the newer - not-so-much $. sorry ;)
