What is the matter made up of?

There are several answers for this:

Elements- the substances that cannot be divided into others

Atoms- the building blocks of molecules (i.e. gold, oxygen, etc)

Molecules- several atoms put together to make new substances

Matter also has three states:

Air- fits any container, least dense, free roaming

Liquid-fits any container, sub-free roaming

solid-fits only some containers, not free roaming, most dense

-there is also what is called a plasma- an in-between of (I believe) air and liquid.
