Depends on the persons age and condition. A normal adult aged between 16-70 can be looking at around 500mg every six to eight hours. However in some cases it can be higher, this is usually reserved for people in hospital with an infection that may kill them or cause irreparable damage. You shouldn't take more than you need to as you can cause infections to become penicillin resistant which is how super bugs develop
