This depends on if you use the other ports on your computer to connect devices to also. If you only use the USB port and connect it to USB hub's you can connect up to 126 devices. Without using any USB hubs you will be limited to only one USB device.

The answer provided earlier is incorrect. Technically, you can use upto 127 devices per port, not 500. Albeit, the more devices you use, the slower it gets, but for the most part, you can safely get away with 3 or more devices per port with any modern device(s).

well you can get over a million but if you use the device that you plug in that makes more if not I'm afraid one.

Seeing as how this is probably for the CompTIA A+ cert, I'll give you the answer they want.

Theoretically you could connect as many devices as you would want. However the USB port would become the bottlekneck in performence. Unfortunately the biggest limiting factor isn't how many but more concerned with supply. The USB port would need sufficient voltage to be able to power (x) many devices off a standard rail.

Each USB root hub can support up to 127 devices. You can have any number of hubs in a computer, so there is no exact number that can be supported by any one computer.

How many devices can a usb port support?

In theory a single hub of USB can support 127 devices. In practice, this will not actually occur. Most computers do not have enough power to drive that many devices. A reasonable number would be about 20.
