It mean a lot of thing from different people but Oldenberg see it as a viking ship with its prow rising from the water. This art is also playful because as you see, the spoon is a little bent that the cherry looks like it is ready to slide down and come back up to the stem of the spoon and continue. Some also says that it represent the season because in winter it going to be covered by the snow and some on the top of the sherry.
