A disease is a problem with your health. It can vary from diseases like Diabetes to malaria.

However an infectious disease is when the disease can be transmitted from person to person by air, water, food and touch and is usually caused by a virus, bacteria or fungus. So for example malaria, is contagious because it is either caused by a bacteria or virus, therefore an infectious disease.

In the other hand diabetes isn't contagious because it cannot be spread by person to person unless it is a genetic disorder.
