If the calendar month is February, you are talking about 28 days (except in leap year when you are talking about 29 days.)

Example:

If you are transacting business on January 17th and are talking about 6 calendar months, you are either talking about January 1st through June 30th OR February 1st through July 31st; it must be made clear during discussions WHEN the time begins.

You would NOT be talking about January 17th through July 17th.
