I believe that Crusades means a holy war lead by a Christian to recover the Holy Land from the Muslims. It was a military-religious expedition organized by the Pope from a Roman Catholic Church. Christians made an attempt to recover Christian territories lost to the infidels. It was all about recapturing "Christian" lands that had been invaded by Muslims.
