alright, i will explain why Lelouch is still alive, i have done a lot of examinations and research. 1. At the end, Lord Jeremiah says "Onward masked Knight", so he isn't putting up a fight, and after Lelouch was stabbed, he smiles before calling retreat orders. he would have been more upset if Lelouch had really died since he lives to protect Lelouch and Nanalle. 2. Nanalle has 'memory watch' when she touches Lelouch, which is what happens to people when they touch C2 which means he could be immortal. 3. The symbol of Geass wasnt on Lelouch's forehead when he died, but (Emperor Charles had it on his hand) if ya look closely, Lelouch's hand is covered in blood which could easily be covering up the mark. 4. When Emperor Charles tried to choke Lelouch, he used the hand with the Geass symbol on it, so the power could easily have been passed to Lelouch and shown up on his hand (revert to number 3). 5.The Code activates first when you die, Lelouch's code activates when Suzaku stabbed him, just like Charle's code acrtivated when he was first shot. After being stabbed, Lelouch's code is activating and trying to revive him. Think of C2, she was shot and she shed blood and was unconcious for a while, which is what happened to Lelouch after being stabbed. 6. Nanalle was the one who showed Lelouch how to make cranes, and since at the end there is a crane and C2 doesnt know how to make them, the cart driver could easily be Lelouch in disquise. Not to mention that C2 said that she doesnt talk to dead people and that she tilts her head back a little on the cart and says Lelouch's name, which means she is talking directly to someone and that person is LELOUCH! There ya have it, LONG LIVE LELOUCH!

When does lelouch die?
In season 2 episode 25, Suzaku Kururugi kills him with the sword Zero uses and Suzaku is wearing the Zero mask. Lelouch asked Suzaku to kill him, because he was the worst king ever, well that's what Lelouch thinks. Nunnally finally becomes the real govener of Japan, but has to cry herself to sleep every night after Lelouch's death. Lelouch became the king after he was denouced as lord, and finally took the name Lelouch vi Brittania again. I disagree. The point in the anime is to leave it as a mystery for the viewer to interpret but if you must know, the answer is no, Lelouch does NOT die. The Code is the power of immortality, which C.C. has. The 98th Emperor of Britannia, Charles, has the Code. He transferred the Code to Lelouch while strangling him in episode 21. Lelouch wanted this, and he deliberately told Suzaku to not interfere. However, the Code does not activate unless receiver dies first. This is shown when the nun kills C.C. after transferring the Code to her. Charle's Code activated when he shot himself. Here is one of the big misconceptions that most people have: The transfer of the Code does not involve death of the transferrer. The nun was crazy and killed herself after she transferred her code. VV was injured from the battle and died. So basically, after episode 21, Lelouch had Charle's Code (inactivated) and C.C's contracted Geass. When Lelouch got stabbed by Zero/Suzaku at the end, his Code was activated. What supports this is that Nunnally got Lelouch's memories when she touched him, just like Lelouch did when he touched C.C. back in Narita. The only way this could have happened is his Code activating. This pretty much confirms that he has the Code. Unlike C.C., and Charles, who lost their Geasses because the people who contracted them died, Lelouch didn't obtain C.C.'s Code and thus kept his Geass, while having the Code (which he obtained from Charles at the same time). Lelouch therefore has achieved CODE GEASS. In the end, Lelouch is the masked cart driver (why else would they mask him) and CC is seen talking to him (her eyes slant towards the front of the cart when she says "Right, Lelouch?") and Nunally's Japanese paper crane is seen near the front of the cart, suggesting that it belonged to the driver. It was the similar effects when Lelouch touched C.C.'s body back in the cave episode. This pretty much tells us that he really has the code and it is activating to revive him. Also, before you say that C.C. was just talking to the dead like with Marianne, that's not true. She could only talk to her because of the nature of her Geass which allowed her to implant herself into the "hearts" of others. That's how she was able to talk with Marianne. Lelouch's Geass was entirely different, meaning that she could only have spoken to him if he was there.4. The man driving the cart at the end is Lelouch. You can tell by the way C.C. tilts her head back a bit and in the tone that she is using that she is talking to that person, who she calls Lelouch. They don't show you his face because they want to make you speculate about it, but he is alive.5. You can still tell that C.C. and the man driving are in Japan due to the drivers Japanese straw hat. Noticing this you would wonder why would a Japanese hay bale driver be wearing Britanian clothing?
