He directs occupation of the guns and maintains firing capability. Chief of Firing Battery develops and executes the platoon's defense plan, oversees maintenance of the firing platoon's equipment, keeps the Platoon's Weapon Record Data (DA Form 2408-4) and is the chief safety supervisor on the 'Gun Line.'
