The mitochondria is the site of most of cellular respiration, same glycolysis. Through the Kreb's cycle and oxidative phosphorilation the mitochondria produce the energy currency of the cell; ATP. The endosymbiotic theory explains the presence of the mitochondria as a fusing or ingesting of a type of aerobic bacteria many eons ago.
The mitochondria are organelles in cells that are the "energy storehouse" of cells. This is where most of the ATP production takes place via oxidative phosphorylation.
Oxygen makes it's way through the electron transport chain in the membrane of mitochondria to ATP synthases, where ADP is converted into ATP.
ATP is the primary source of chemical "fuel" for cellular processes.
Therefore, mitochondria are where the main source of fuel is generated for all cellular processes.
These are the cell's powerhouses. They make energy that the cell can use to stay alive.
plant and animal cell
Mitochondria or mitochondrion
The job of the mitochondria has in it plant cell is the same job that mitochondria have in animal cell. The mitochondria makes energy for the cell to function.
Mitochondria is the powerhouse of a cell.
The mitochondria - this is where ATP is created during respiration, and ATP 'powers' the cell.
The mitochondria produces energy for the cell
The mitochondria are located throughout the cell.
The Mitochondria provides energy for the cell
The mitochondria produces energy for the cell
Mitochondria makes energy for the cell with the food its been givin. You find mitochondria in very type of cell...
If there is no mitochondria in the cell of an organism then there will be no energy in the cell due to the mitochondria being the power house of the cell is absent. Basically, they break down food particles in the cell and turn it into ATP for the body to use.So if there would be no mitochondria there will be no use of eating food.
If cell is a factory, mitochondria is its powerhouse
