What model of Corolla ? You have to take the dash board out and the bulbs can be removed and replaced from the back. The dashboard on the Corolla is not that difficult to take out, but you have to do it slowly and carefully.

Remove housing by unscrewing the screw on inside of tailgate and pull housing off. Unplug wires and unscrew black bulb casing from front housing. Pull bulbs out and install new ones. Then put back together. I suggest removing housing and getting bulbs out before buying new bulbs, as there are 4 different types of bulbs used on that year model truck.
Are you sure they are burnt out?? A 1998 model year vehicle is much too young to have theat many burned out bulbs. There is something else that is causing this problem.
No. I recently had my key break off in the ignition in a 2004 Kia Sedona. I had a locksmith remove it and make replacement keys that he was afraid might be coded because of the large size but after making 2 new spares, we discovered they were not coded which would have caused the engine to shut down after a few seconds.
