How do you change the rear main seal on an 1995 eagle talon?
On some vehicle the seal sits on the rear of the crank under the flywheel. Trans has to be removed to access. On some vehicle the seal sits on the rear of the crank under the flywheel. Trans has to be removed to access.
You remove the trans and flywheel. The seal then drives in from the rear.
Rear main seal.
The rear main seal is located on the moter between the transmission you have to pull motor or trans to change it the seel is on that shaft that slides into the transmission saft
pull trans. fly wheel one piece rear main seal not a job for a shade tree
between where the engine and trans meet
if you can see it at the front of the trans its the front seal or rear seal at back of trans but there is also a seal between the trans and transfer case that can go causing your transfer case to fill right up with oil, hard on seals. to check this remove top plug on transfer case and if more than a few drops come out like quart or 2, seals between the trans and transfer case are bad. hope this helps.
Yes. Remove drive shaft from the differential (rear-end) and slide it off the splined shaft into the trans. A seal between the shaft & trans tail piece can be removed (prying sometimes) and a new be seated in with a block of wood & hammer. Inspect where the old seal rubbed the drive shaft for a too worn area. yes tranny tail shaft seal Yes, there is a rear transmission seal.
Remove the drive shaft, and pry out the old seal. Tap in the new seal very carefully. Best to have the right tool for this.
Most (not all) Fiero engines require the engine be removed from the car and the seal removed after that. The engines use a one piece seal in most engines. It is also possible to remove the transmission to do this, but either way you need to separate the engine and trans, pry out the old seal, and install new.
a leapord seal
Yes, That would be the easiest thing 2 do.
