Jimi Hendrix
Well here...... MOST, NOT ALL, hippie and famous music artists did drugs back in the 60's, and 70's. Jimi Hendrix was one of the most popular back then. Just saying that it was the "thing" to do back then.

Jimi is my favorite and is known to be the most famous and talented. But its your choice not mine to decide. Stevie was a HUGE Hendrix fan and emulated Hendrix's looks, guitar moves and style after Jimi. He said he was honoring Hendrix, not trying to be Hendrix because no one, in his opinion, was as good as Hendrix.
The most famous song he played was Purple Haze.
Purple Haze is probably one of his most known songs recorded.
Maybe, but he was most famous for playing the guitar.
Perhaps Jimi Hendrix (he started his musical journey playing the viola), but perhaps Beethoven, Bach or Haydn would be considered the most famous viola player.
All 3 are extremely famous in the world of rock n' roll, but Bob Dylan was the only one of them who had a long career; also, he sold more albums than Jimi Hendrix or Jim Morrison combined, so Dylan is generally the most famous of the three (competing with Hendrix).
When he became "famous" is debatable but most contend that the fame really hit after June 1967 with his performance at Monterey Pop.
No, but his most famous protest song was Machine Gun. It protested the Vietnam War.
