It depends on your definition of "popular". The northeastern border of Kansas is formed by the Missouri River. The Kansas River (a/k/a Kaw River) empties into the Missouri River and runs westward for well over 100 miles. The Arkansas River (pronounced "r-kansas" in the state) is rather substantial. The Arkansas River and the Missouri River both have flooded and caused significant damage on occasion. Those are the three most popular rivers in Kansas that I am aware of.
