According to the U.S. National Climate Extremes Committee, the greatest 24-hr snowfall on record was 75.8 inches which fell at Silver Lake, Colorado on April 14-15, 1921.
However, a possibly greater value has recently come to light in the archives of the NOAA National Climatic Data Center - an amazing 78.0 inches of snowfall recorded at Mile 47 Camp in Alaska on Feb. 9, 1963. The camp is located along Richardson Highway near the Gulf of Alaska and is part of the National Weather Service's Cooperative (CO-OP) Weather Observation network. There was an intense low over the Gulf of Alaska that day.
A 77-inch 24-hr snowfall was reported at Montague, NY 11-12 January, 1997, but this total was ruled invalid by the National Climate Extremes Committee because the observer did not follow accepted observation protocol (measured too often, not giving time for air trapped in the snow on the snow board time to evacuate) and therefore the observation was artificially overstated by several inches. [see NWS, 1997: Evaluation of the Reported January 11-12, 1997, Montague, New York, 77-Inch, 24-Hour Lake-Effect Snowfall, GPO, 41 pp.]
No greater observations for 24-hr snow fall are known to the NOAA National Climatic Data Center.
The greatest snowfall in North America in 24 hours was 76 inches (195.6 centimeters) in Silver Lake, Colorado, USA on April 14 to April 15 in 1921.
The most snowfall that happened in one storm was 87 inches in Silver Lake, Colorado. The snowfall lasted for less than 28 hours.
about 15 feet
Depends on how long the storm lasts
Rainbows do not usually form after a snow storm

Heavy snow warnings are made public when there is a very good likelihood that the storm will hit a certain area. There is a required amount of expected snow fall to make it a heavy snow warning.
Cirrostratus clouds usually come 12-24 hours before a rain or snow storm.
A snow storm (blizzard) is when a strong wind is combined with heavy snowing.

a snow storm is created by high winds and snow in weather under 0 degrees
storm in which there is considerable falling and blowing snow

Snow does not fall in tropical rainforests, though there are such things as mid-latitude rainforests (for example on the southeast coast of Alaska) where some snow will fall in the winter.
Ideally storm lines should be cleaned yearly, normally in the fall when the leaves have fallen and the drainage system should be cleaned to allow the run off of rain and snow
