Nemesis, also know as Rhamnusia, was the said to be the spirit of divine retribution against those who committed hubris (arrogance before God/gods). She was worshiped as being the daughter of Zeus and Oceanus Erebus and Nyx, or the daughter of Nyx alone. In Greek, the word "Nemesis" (nemein) means to give what is due.
