The ends of a bar magnet are generally called the north and south poles. However they are more accurately known as the North Attracting pole and the South Attracting pole as the respective ends of the magnet are drawn to the Earths north and south poles.

Electrons repel other electrons, and magnetic poles repel other magnetic poles which are the same, that is, north repels north and south repels south.
The lines that meet at the North and South Poles are called meridians of longitude. These lines run from the North Pole to the South Pole and are used to measure how far east or west a location is from the Prime Meridian.

A magnet's poles are designated "north" and "south" just like the Earth -- which is, in fact, a planetary magnet. The northern magnetic pole on Earth (the one in the arctic) is magnetically a south pole, since poles on magnets are labelled by the direction that they tend to point in Earth's magnetic field (it's more correct and clearer to call them "north-seeking" and "south-seeking" poles).
There are 2 poles of magnet one is like pole and the other is unlike pole one has north pole in it and the other has south pole in it. South snd south pole of 2 magnets would never attract where as the same goes with north pole as well.North and south pole would always attract.
The poles of a magnet are not separate entities. There is no fixed part of the magnet called the North Pole or the South Pole.In a magnet, the magnetic moments of all the individual atoms are acting in the same direction, from one end to the other. We name one direction as the North Pole and one as the South Pole.So, even if the magnet is broken, the magnetic moments are still aligned in the same direction, and each of the pieces have their own respective North and South Poles.Note: by convention, we name the poles in such a way that the moment is directed from the South Pole to the North Pole, inside the magnet.
Every longitude on Earth forms a line between the north and south poles. Name any number from zero to 180, then call it east or west, and you have a different longitude.
