The name for the ratio of a diagram measurement to actual measurements is the scale.
A measurement of temperature.Celsius is the SI name for the temperature scale previously known as Centigrade. 0 = triple point of water, 100 = the boiling point of water.
The Beaufort Scale is used to measure wind.
Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit (1686-1736).
Mark Twain
The most common is called the Saffir Simpson Hurricane Scale, but there is many that are used worldwide.
A nominal scale is the most basic form of measurement. Notice that the word nominal comes from the same root as the word name. So to use a nominal scale is essentially to name. For instance, I can 'measure' the religion of each person in a sample by assigning a broad religious category from the set {Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Animalist, ...} to each person. This would be the use of a nominal scale. For more, you might visit the wikipedia page about level of measurement.
The pH scale, or the measurement of [H3O+] ions and [OH-] ions in a solution. The scale goes from 0 to 14, 0-6 being acidic, 7 being neutral, and 8-14 being basic.
Mark Twain had a wife named Olivia and three daughters. There names were Susy, Clara, and Jean. Mark Twain's birth name isn't Mark Twain, Mark Twain is a water depth measurement. Mark Twain's real name is Samuel Langhorne Clemens. Hopes this helps! thank you
The Mariana Trench was first measured by HMS Challenger in 1875 using sounding lines. The depth recorded by that method was 4,475 fathoms (8,184m). The first sonar measurement was made by another oceanographic survey ship of the same name, in 1951. The depth reported by that expedition was 10,911 meters.
Ratio is the highest level of measurement in that the data can be ordered, the distance between the values are meaningful, and there is a natural zero. Examples of Ratio measurement would be weight, height, money, age, and distance. From the related link "The ratio scale of measurement is the most informative scale. It is an interval scale with the additional property that its zero position indicates the absence of the quantity being measured. You can think of a ratio scale as the three earlier scales rolled up in one. Like a nominal scale, it provides a name or category for each object (the numbers serve as labels). Like an ordinal scale, the objects are ordered (in terms of the ordering of the numbers). Like an interval scale, the same difference at two places on the scale has the same meaning. And in addition, the same ratio at two places on the scale also carries the same meaning."
It is the mass in that volume. There is no special name unless the volume happens to be a unit volume on some measurement scale.
