The Papal Court is now called the Papal Household, and is made up of dignitaries and others that help the Pope carry out particular ceremonies both religious and civil in nature. The Household is divided into two sections: the Papal Chapel, and the Papal Family. The Papal Chapel is made up of ecclesiastics that participate in religious ceremonies while wearing their liturgical vestments, and draws from such organizations as the College of Cardinals and the Archbishops. The Papal Family is further divided into two groups: ecclesiastical, and lay. The former includes those such as the Substitute of the Secretariat of State and the Secretary for Relations with States. The latter includes members such as The General Counsellor of the State of Vatican City, and The Commandant of the Papal Swiss Guard.
