These coins are called Peace dollars. They were struck to commemorate the end of WWI and have the word PEACE on the reverse.
All silver dollars minted before 1935 are "Liberty" dollars in that they all have "Liberty" on them. They each have a name given to them that varies from design to design.
Technically a Peace dollar is a Liberty dollar because all silver dollars minted up till 1935 carried a picture of Miss Liberty, but not all Liberty dollars are Peace dollars - only those made with the specific PEACE design from late 1921 to 1935 are Peace dollars. Normally each type of silver dollar is given a more specific name based on its design, e.g. "Seated Liberty", "Flowing Hair", or Morgan or Gobrecht for the artists who designed them.
The U.S. stopped making silver dollars in 1935. If you have a coin from a different country please post a new question that includes the name of the country.
There's no coin with that name. Morgan dollars were minted in 1921, and Peace dollars were minted from 1921 to 1935. Please post a new question with the coin's date.
silver dollars are no longer made by the US mints. (Philadelphia and Denver.) today presidential gold dollars are used, not silver dollars. the reason for this is because the most recent silver dollar looked like a quarter. The most recent silver dollar made by the US mints was called The Susan B. Anthony Silver Dollar. Its name is self explanatory on who is on the front of it, Susan B. Anthony.
Well, hence their name, they are worth a dollar and are coins that are silver. LOL
In the Name of the Law - 1922 was released on: USA: 9 July 1922
Please check your coin again and post a new, separate question with the name of the country that issued it. The US didn't strike any silver dollars in 1966; the last ones were minted in 1935 and no new $1 coins were made until 1971.
Please check again and post a new question. No circulating silver dollars were struck between 1804 and 1835 inclusive, and the Morgan name applies only to silver dollars dated 1878-1904 and 1921 that were designed by G. T. Morgan.
There's no such coin. The Morgan name applies to silver dollars dated 1878-1904 and 1921 that were designed by G. T. Morgan. If you have a 1951 half dollar with a picture of Benjamin Franklin on it, it's worth about $6 to $7 for its silver content.
Old US silver dollar dated 1921. The Peace dollars were in circulation after Morgan's. that's just design name.
Anthony Di Francisci was the designer of the famous Peace dollar issued from late 1921 to 1935. The coin is normally referred to by that name.
