The SEC created two divisions and started a championship game in 1992. As of the 2008 season, Tennessee has played in 5 of them: 1997: Tennessee 30, Auburn 29 1998: Tennessee 24, Mississippi State 14 2001: LSU 31, Tennessee 20 2004: Auburn 38, Tennessee 28 2007: LSU 21, Tennessee 14
Tennessee Volunteers
SEC West- Alabama Crimson Tide, Arkansas Razorbacks, Auburn Tigers, LSU Tigers, Mississippi State Bulldogs, Ole Miss Rebels, and Texas A&M Aggies; SEC East- Florida Gators, Georgia Bulldogs, Kentucky Wildcats, Missouri Tigers, South Carolina Gamecocks, Tennessee Volunteers, and Vanderbilt Commodores.
The University of Tennessee Volunteers and the Vanderbilt Commodores are not only SEC rivals but also in-state rivals. Tennessee leads the all-time men's basketball series with Vandy 114-71.
The Tennessee Volunteers is the name of the athletic team for the University of Tennessee. These teams compete in multiple sports, including Football, Basketball, etc. These sports teams compete in the South Eastern Conference, or more commonly called, the SEC.
