There were a number of midget actors who portrayed the characters known as (Munchkins) who were midget people but not called dwarfs oddly a character doll of a Munckin Boy made some years ago bty MMe Alexander somewhat resembled the costume of an Africa Corps or similar soldier in jungle-warfare gear.

∙ 15y agoThe Munchkins of the Blue Country of the East were the little people of the original book by author and Oz series originator Lyman Frank Baum [May 15, 1856-May 5, 1919], and of the posthumous 1939 film version of The Wizard of Oz. They originally were under the rule of the Wicked Witch of the East. So they were overjoyed when Dorothy Gale's farmhouse landed on top of, and killed, the Witch. Three of them came with the Good Witch of the North to welcome Dorothy and her pet dog Toto to the lands of Oz. One of the more important and prominent of them, Boz, extended the hsopitality of a night's lodging and food to Dorothy and to Toto, before the two went off in search of the Yellow Brick Road, and the Wizard of Oz.
