The First American Automobile was invented by Mr. George A. Long in 1875, Hinsdale, New Hampshire, USA. Long had also built a second automobile in 1881 or 1882. It was named the "Steam Road Vehicle" according to U.S.P.O. Patent number: 281,091 dated July 10, 1883.
