In MS Word, on the toolbar, look for a backward P next to the reduce-zoom box. Click the backward P to show paragraph and formatting code.
The show was Boone. It was shown in the early 80's. I remember little about it, but that was the name of the show.

Formatting doesn't delete the files. It Replaces the file that tells windows where the files are. The files are only accesible using special software and wont show up in windows explorer.
