Well one of the things that the terrible Adolf Hitler did was send innocent jews to Concentration Camps to be barried with gas and burned to death . He was also in charge of the Kristallnacht night of violence against Jews.
Large scale violence against Jews in Nazi Germany began with the Night of Broken Glass, which began on 9 November 1938. (Please see related question). Obviously, the relatively small number of Jews in concentration camps before that date experienced violence or death. There had also been a number of 'incidents', especially in 1933.
Hitler blamed the Jewish people for Germany's loss in WWI. 6 and half million Jews were murdered and other who helped Jews or spoke against Hitler were also murdered.
It was the first instance of unchecked violence against Jews. In the aftermath the Jews had to pay for the destruction.
In fact, with the exception of the Kristallnacht (Night of the Broken Glass) the Nazi regime generally discouraged pogroms in the sense of mob violence against Jews. They had other ways of achieving their goals.
