The Large Intestine
The large intestine dewaters the digested food after the small intestine removes the nutrients. The solidified waste then exists the body. Other organs also deal in water removal - sweat glands, tear ducts, kidneys. None of these, however, deals directly with digested food streams.

Food is broken down or digested in the stomach but the nutrients are not absorbed in the stomach. Nutrients from digested food are primarily absorbed in the small intestine.

The large intestine absorbs water from digested food. Vitamin K is absorbed by the small intestine. Normal bacteria in the intestine seem to have an important role in vitamin K absorption.
