Diffusion. Where particles move from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration. For example if perfume is sprayed in one corner of a room, it will be smelt soon after in the opposite corner. It is a random, natural process that doesn't require energy.
The perfume particles collide with the moving air particles spreading it across the room. thanks people :)

Diffusion of the perfume in the air allows you to smell it at a distance source. Diffusion is the process by which the particles of a substance move from an area of higher concentration (the original source) to an area of lower concentration (everywhere else in the room).
This is due to the process of diffusion.
It is due to diffusion of perfume,it is a sort of evaporation.
Diffusion is the mixing of a substance with another substance due to the motion of its particles. The smell of perfume spreading over a room is an example of diffusion. @fragrancesim
Top or head notes in reference to the smell of a perfume is the initial smell of the perfume when applied. They form a person's initial impression of a perfume and thus are very important in the selling of the product.
A perfume is appreciated by smell/odour, not vision.
