Animalism
The quasi-Marxist socialist philosophy advocated by Napoleon and Snowball in George Orwell's "Animal Farm" is called Animalism. This ideology promotes equality among animals and the overthrow of human oppression. However, it becomes corrupted as the pigs take control and betray the original principles of Animalism.
The relationship between Napoleon and Snowball in Animal Farm resembles the rivalry between Joseph Stalin and Leon Trotsky in Soviet history. Both pairs involved power struggles, with one figure (Napoleon/Stalin) eventually asserting dominance over the other (Snowball/Trotsky) through manipulation and force.
Napoleon prioritizes building up the farm's defenses with armed guards and a strict regime to protect their power and resources. Snowball, on the other hand, advocates for educating and training the animals to fend off potential threats, believing that a knowledgeable and organized group can defend the farm more effectively.
The philosopher Plato is often credited with the saying "One falsehood leads easily to another." This quote highlights how lies can quickly snowball and escalate, causing a chain reaction of deceit.
Stalin did not physically kill Trotsky, but he is believed to have ordered Trotsky's assassination in 1940 while Trotsky was living in exile in Mexico. Trotsky was attacked with an ice axe by a Soviet agent and died the following day from his injuries.
Squealer and the pigs distort the truth by revising the commandments set by Old Major, such as changing "All animals are equal" to "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others." They manipulate the past to discredit Snowball, portraying him as a traitor and blaming him for various misfortunes on the farm. The pigs constantly rewrite the narrative of the farm's history to maintain their power and control over the other animals, portraying themselves as the heroes and saviors of the farm's revolution.
Well its the bigs who are the leadear for socialim on the farm. All were but if we say communism napoleon was and snowball was more of a socialist. Old Major would represent Karl Marx and would represent Marxism aka beginings of socialism.
Becuase Napoleon the butt thinks Snowball did it.
That would be snowball, who was from there out considered a 'trator', but in reality was not.
Snowball the nice one that got chased off by dogs. Napoleon the mean one with the dogs, changed the rules to suit him. Squealer, Napoleon's spokesperson, great talker, just about everyone believed him.
Well, Napoleon is obviously more interested in dictatorship than Snowball. Plus, Napoleon makes all kinds of changes to the original commandments of all animals. Snowball eventually plans to build a windmill but Napoleon urinates on his blueprints. Then, Snowball is ran out of the farm by Napoleon's dogs that he stole from Blue Bell and Jessie. Napoleon is soon the dictator of Animal Farm and blames everything on Snowball. Squealer is Napoleons first mate who explains everything that Napoleon does is right when it's really only benefiting the pigs.
The windmill, Snowball wants to build it because of it's unlimited benefits such as electricity and heating in the stalls. As Napoleon just doesn't really have a good reason except for the fact that it would be tiring and could decrease harvest.
Snowball was chased out of animal farm by some bllod hounds, that napoleon set onto him. Napoleon took the dogs when they were puppies and trained them to be vicious. When Napoleon brought the dogs out to attack Snowball, snowball just escaped through a hole in the hedge, and the other animals were horrified.
Napoleon supports them because snowball disapproves of them
snowball is a dedicated leader as well as a good military leader, later on in the story snowball is criticised of being a traitor by napoleon.
The climax of Animal Farm is when Snowball is run off the farm by Napoleon's "guard dogs". Napoleon then takes over the farm by himself. After Snowball is run off; everything bad that happened on the farm was blamed on Snowball. Snowball was stripped of all of his honor, only because Napoleon didn't want anyone siding with him.
Napoleon's guard dogs chased Snowball off the farm, which made Snowball hide in a hole, never to be seen again. Napoleon immediately makes himself "Leader", and uses Snowball as the scapegoat.
Snowball and Napoleon. If one made a suggestion the other would not approve of it. For example the windmill. When Snowball came up with the idea, Napoleon said that it would not work. But as soon as Napoleon chased Snowball away, he decided to build the windmill anyway.
