The Roman name for the king of the gods and lord of the sky was Jupiter. It is sometimes spelled Iupiter. His Greek equivalent was Zeus.

In Rome the kin of the gods' name was Jupiter, but in Greece he was Zeus.

The Roman form was definitely more warlike, and the Greek form had more interest in art and literature.

Not always as the Romans had the war god of mars.
