The Republic of India is bordered by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the northwest.

The Indian Ocean to the west side of India is called the "Arabian Sea" and the Indian Ocean to the east side of India is called the "Bay of Bengal" to the south of India round Siri Lanka is the Indian Ocean is given the name the "Laccadive Sea".
