The names of the flu vaccines that the US FDA approved for the 2011-2012 flu season are:

Afluria from CSL Limited

Fluvarix from GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Biologicals

FluLaval from ID Biomedical Corporation

Fluvirin from Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics Limited

Fluzone and Fluzone High-Dose from Sanofi Pasteur, Inc.

There is also a new form of flu vaccine that is injected into the layers of the skin instead of in the muscle like the typical flu shot. It is called Fluzone Intradermal from Sanofi Pasteur, Inc.

Additionally, there is the nasal spray form of the flu vaccine. It is called FluMist from MedImmune Vaccines, Inc.
