No, you dont fell pain in the part of the brain called the thyroid. The thyroid or thyroid gland is actually what you call an Adam's Apple. So basically the thyroid has nothing to do with the brain
FALSE :)
Yes, you do feel pain in your brain and it's called the thyroid.
TSH is not a thyroid hormone - it is a pituitary hormone called Thyroid Stimulating Hormone. It's job is to tell the thyroid how much thyroid hormone to produce. This is called a negative feedback system. The thyroid produces hormone. The brain reads that there is insufficient hormone in the bodyThe pituitary gland in the brain produces more TSH that turns the thyroid onMore TSH means the thyroid produces even more thyroid hormone. When there is too much thyroid hormone in the body, the pituitary turns off TSH as the body doesn't need any MORE thyroid hormone. If the brain, pituitary and thyroid are working properly, thyroid hormones T4 and T3 will be high (hypERthyroidism) when TSH is low, and thyroid hormones T4 and T3 will be low (hypOthyroidism) when TSH is high.
Does anyone know does the thyroid affect your brain so to speak. I had my thyroid removed and ever since I got it out my brain is something else. I had a head injury sometime ago and when I had my thyroid taken out it was like waking up from the dead. I am on medication now to replace my thyroid and like I said I am a totally different person now since my thyroid was removed. But I want to get the real facts how the brain affects thyroid medication or the thyroid please.
Yes. An enlarged thyroid gland can occur in two common conditions called hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism. Both conditions can be treated medically and/or surgically. For example, primary hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid gland) can be treated by administering synthetic thyroid hormone (called levothyroxine). This decreases the signals from the brain that tell the thyroid to grow and work harder, consequently decreasing the size of the gland.
There is a part of the brain called the hypothalamus which is next to the pituitary. When you have not enough Thyroxine (T4) your hypothalamus makes TRH which tells the pituitary to make Thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH). TSH as in the name stimulates the thyroid gland in the neck to make more Thyroxine.
That gland is called as thyroid.
may also be referred to as a thyroid scintiscan. The name of the radioactive substance used may be incorporated and the study called a technetium thyroid scan or an iodine thyroid scan.
The name of this gland is Pituitary. it is located at the base of the brain in pituitary fossa. It is controlled by the hypothalamus, which is the part of the brain. This gland is called as master gland the endocrine system.
One name for a brain infection is encephalitis.
The Adam's apple is actually on just above the thyroid gland and is called the thyroid cartilage.
