here i go..."Can you pull this lever down further?"
Impossible to tell without more informaiton.
The fulcrum. A Lever is a rigid rod to which a force can be applied to overcome a resistance. The point at which a lever pivots is called the fulcrum.
A lever moves further on one end than the other. One end moves further, with less force- the other moves a lesser distance, but with greater force.
A lever that has the load between the fulcrum and the effort is known as a second order lever. Once again, the further away the effort is from the fulcrum and the load the greater the mechanical advantage of the lever.
There should be a margin-set lever that can be slid further in or out to alter the travel of the carriage. The margin-set lever is often located next to the larger carriage release lever.
There was/is no such thing as a 1940's vintage Winchester lever-action .410. Winchester did make a slide-action (pump) .410 shotgun called the Model 42 during the 1940s.
You would be better served to have a rifle of this age and vintage caliber visually examined by a gun collector that specializes in Marlin rifles. There are too many variables that could effect the value of such a nice old Marlin lever action rifle.
On older Suburbans, 80's &90's, there is a lever that is positioned horizontally behind the lower cushion. (Middle of seat, down by the floor.) Pull up on this lever or bar while pulling up at the back of the seat; the seat should pivot on the front pivot connect points, releasing the rear connect points. Once the rear connect points are separated from the floor, pull the whole seat back, pulling the front connect points free. The seat back can be folded forward by releasing the lever in the back corner on the passenger side.
really?A2. Or at least a lever and an axle, which acts through a further rotary device for its action.
A class 3
Easy. The longer the lever is (or the further out you hold it) the more torque you will be able to apply (T = F x r). Also, by pulling the lever perpendicular to it's axis of rotation, no energy will be wasted as it would if you were pulling it to one side or the other against or away from the pivot.
