Other regions that fall in the Appalachian Mountains are the Atlantic Coast Uplands, Eastern Newfoundland Atlantic, Maritime Arcadian Highlands, Maritime Plain, Notre Dame and Megantic Mountains, Western Newfoundland Mountains, Piedmont, Blue Ridge, Valley and Ridge, Saint Lawrence Valley, Appalachian Plateaus, New England province, and the Adirondack provinces. The Appalachian Mountains are mainly located in the United States but they spread into south-eastern Canada. It forms a district which the distance is between 100-300 miles wide. It extends from the island of Newfoundland and runs about 1500 miles south-west to the inner section of Alabama. The foothills from the Appalachian mountain reach are found in the north-eastern part of Mississippi.
